The reading for class

As I read the article from the New York Times, i began to wonder about all it had to say. Most of which I agree with. I agree that the heavy use of technology is not a good thing. I know that there are times where I can't pull myself away from my computer. But there are also times where I hate looking at the thing. This article made me think about just how much I really use a computer now, and it shocks me. There was a time where I would get so lost in a book that I could not hear anything going on in the world around me. It got me in trouble in school all the time. I was probably the one kid in my school who was constantly being told to put books down and stop reading rather then the usual vise versa with most other students. But now I find myself doing the same thing, but on the computer. Most of the time I only get like that when I'm playing my favorite video games like Age of Empires or Stronghold Crusader. But now I'm getting lost in facebook and other things online. I actually came to realize it awhile back and gave myself an intervention on it. While I still get distracted by my computer, I don't get distracted as easily. Reading the article, I came to realize that if I kept going like that I could have ended up like Mr. Campbell and get swallowed up by computers. I am really glad I didn't. I really agree with everything this article said about how technology is effecting how we do things. Its causing kids to become easily distracted and such. But I also agree that people who play certain kinds of videos are able to have better reflexes or eyes sight. I have a few friends who are big into first person shooter games and they are both really good with seeing details that I can't. I found that real life connection shocking because I wouldn't have thought of it if I had not read this article. And I have thousand more things to say about this article, but I forgot my charging cable at my apartment when I went out to do research and type this assignment up so I only have a few minutes left before my laptop shuts down. So I will leave off here and hopefully pic up again when I get back to my apartment later.
